Faye Valentine
It can be said that Faye Valentine is someone who redefines the term "independent modern woman" to suit her own purposes. Then again, someone has also commented that Faye is reminiscent of a Nabiki Tendo (from Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2, nonetheless) with PMS, a gun, the same old lust for money, bounty hunter skills and thrust quite some years into the future.
An intergalactic woman of mystery (as opposed to being a shagadelic International Man of Mystery), Faye packs quite a punch right down to her accessories. Her trusted "partner" is her Glock30 (an automatic gun). In Cowboy Bebop's world, cigarette smoking must be either (a)harmless, (b)non-addictive, (c)commonplace or (d) all of the above since Faye can be seen quite a few times lighting up a cigarette (if not a cigar). Being weaponless on public space transportation isn't a problem, since Faye owns a "narcotic small gun" which is a "make up kit type multi case" (as rephrased from the Gakken Mook Cowboy Bebop Characters Collection book). The said narcotic small gun looks like a small perfume bottle that can render oneself unconscious.
Of course, the trusty Red Tail cannot be neglected.
As to whether or not handcuffs can be considered a standard Faye accessory... that is still a valid argument.
For information (aka SPOILERS) about Faye's past before she met Spike and the rest of the folks on the Bebop, there is now a Spoilers ~ Past section.
